Dear Concern Citizens and Friends,
Just a note about the progress of my race for the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh.
My campaign is gearing up for the Primary on May 19, 2009. We are multiplying our efforts and concentrating on raising funds for cable TV, radio, billboards, yard signs and mass mailings. Although, I acknowledge the difficulty giving can be especially in these tough economic times; I must continue to ask for your help.
While our campaign is about giving the people a voice and an opportunity to be heard, we will not be able to provide a vehicle for your voices without necessary resources. Because of the recent attention regarding “ethics in government,” our campaign is committed to asking real people, instead of corporate PACs and special interests for funds.
My experience as a public servant for the people of Pittsburgh evidenced a sense of responsibility, priority and ethics. These qualities are essential when you want citizens to respect your beliefs, passions and commitment of their tax dollars to municipal endeavors. Pittsburgh needs a leader with managerial skills to combat 2008’s homicide rate, mounting fiscal problems and perception of politics as usual.
I held a position as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Dwayne D. Woodruff but now I am in private practice. What I love most about what I do as an attorney is “the fights” I must undertake to advocate effectively for my clients. I will also challenge the people of Pittsburgh to become advocates for this great city we live in by becoming real partners in turning this tough climate around. I believe in the old adage “those who have the problem hold the solution” this notion was instilled in me from an early age.
As your Mayor, I will commit to giving you back your voice; I will establish priorities in line with the concerns of Pittsburgh. Transparency and ethics will not seem corny or naïve. This will be my goal, but I must first win this campaign and I cannot win without your financial support.
My hope is that, as a concern citizen and friend, you will consider helping us.
Respectfully requesting your help,
Carmen L. Robinson
